For painting walls, it's best to use water-based or acrylic paint—they're eco-friendly, dry quickly, odorless, and easy to clean. For damp areas (bathrooms, kitchens), latex or silicone paint, which is mold-resistant, is suitable. Matte paints conceal imperfections, while glossy paints highlight texture. The choice depends on the surface type, the conditions of use, and the desired effect.
The choice of wallpaper color depends on the room's purpose and the desired atmosphere. Light tones (beige, pastel, white) visually expand the space and are suitable for bedrooms and small rooms. Warm shades (peach, yellow, terracotta) create a cozy atmosphere in living rooms. Cool colors (blue, gray, green) are calming and ideal for work areas. Bright accents will add energy, but it's best to use them sparingly. Consider lighting: northern-facing rooms "warm up" with yellow tones, while southern-facing rooms benefit from cooler tones.
Before applying filler, clean the walls of any old finish, dust, and prime them. Apply a base coat of filler with a wide spatula (40–60 cm), filling any cracks and imperfections. Let it dry and sand smooth. Then apply a thin layer of finishing filler (1–2 mm), let it dry again, and sand smooth with fine sandpaper (120–150 grit). Make sure the surface is even and smooth, then prime before wallpapering. Work in good lighting!
